How to Plan a Writing Project
How to Plan a Writing Project:
1.Decide on a project. “I want my students to write a --------.”
2.Decide which writing elements you want demonstrated in the final product.
3.Create a rubric to evaluate those elements.
4.Make a model of an “excellent” example.
5.Optional: Make a checklist for peer evaluation.
6.Choose minilessons based on the model/rubric.
7.Pace your minilessons.
8.Enjoy your ready-to-go writing project next year.

Technology Standards
These are the technology standards in Duval County. I notice many of them could be applied as justification for student blogging. For example:
An 8th grader is expected to demonstrate mastery of this skill:
Design, develop, publish, and present products using technology resources that demonstrate and communicate curriculum concepts to audiences inside and outside the classroom.
